Unorthodox Conversations with a Hebrew Man
--
Answering Emmanuel Acho’s queries from Scripture
Our dear brother Emmanuel Acho entertained some very pertinent and thought-provoking inquiries in his inaugural episode of “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man”. As a man of Israelite descent, a practitioner of Torah, and a student of Rabbi Yahshua by the grace of Yahweh, I would like to engage these queries, as well.
Abba, may those that have ears to hear, let them hear.
Let the healing begin.
Why are you all rioting?
A nation unknown to you will eat the fruit of your land and labor. Yes you will be continually oppressed and crushed, till you go crazy from what your eyes have to see. (Deuteronomy 28:33–34, CJB)
King Shelomoh ben Dawid also says the following:
Surely oppression drives the wise into madness, and a bribe corrupts the heart. (Ecclesiastes 7:7, ESV)
First, let’s contextualize the question. I personally, am not rioting. By “you all”, I believe the target demographic being referred to here are the Hebrews; the children of Israel, whom the world currently calls “blacks”, which is a byword. A misnomer.
Hebrews who are avid partisans of the Black Lives Matter movement, are rioting/looting, because presently, they aren’t cognizant of the root of our oppressed condition. Dear brother Emmanuel says that if white people are your problem, then white people are your solution. Torah disagrees with this. White people are not my problem. White people are not the problem. White people are not the root cause of Hebrew oppression in America and beyond. For Torah says:
But if you refuse to pay attention to what Adonai your God says, and do not observe and obey all His [commandments] and regulations which I am giving you today, then all the following curses will be yours in abundance. (Deuteronomy 28:15, CJB)
